Advice for Google Voice
I was a long time user of GrandCentral.com, a phone number forwarding / voicemail service that Google purchased a while back. Recently Google announced that they had developed the successor of this service and calling it Google Voice. Currently this new service is in a private beta only for current GrandCentral users.
I recently made the switch to Google Voice and really like many of the features. The similar design and UI we have all gotten use to with Gmail, really helps with the feel of the service. But I do have a few things I would like to suggest to the Google Voice division.
First I would love to see labels and filtering added. Much like what we have in Gmail. Maybe even allow an option to merge the information with Gmail. It’s all just communication anyway, right? Searching through all of your communications for a contact would be much more informative. Another feature I would like to see is the ability to add more than one phone number within the service. Like you can manage multiple email addresses within one Gmail account. Having my work line perform differently than a personal line, but still be able to control it all in one place, would turn this into a truly incredible service.
