Disney AppMATes

For all of those people that need an example of what makes the iPad unique. I just hope my son doesn’t see this.
Kindle Fire
- 7” widescreen size.
- Specialized (locked down and forked) version of Android (around 2.1).
- Direct access to Amazon’s content and services only. Including Amazon’s Android App Store only.
- Multi-touch, but reports say that it’s only 2 contact multi-touch not 5 like the iPad.
- Wifi only… for now.
- $199!
As I stated previously, it’s a very tempting tablet device. Again, I don’t think it’s a threat to the iPad.
I think the lack of a more expansive multi-touch contact surface and the size completely tosses out the idea of using it for content creation. But I’m sure that’s what Amazon was going for.
Content consumption. Lots and lots of consumption.
New Amazon Kindles
Wow! With a starting price of $79, they are really making a strong play for the holiday season. And the new “Kindle Fire” is a VERY tempting tablet device for $199. Though I still wouldn’t call it a threat to the iPad.
